- More than 1,500 student athletes from the state of Guanajuato will participate.
San Luis de la Paz, Gto. April 19, 2024.- The Secretariat of Education of Guanajuato (SEG) is preparing the 2024 edition of the Basic Education School Sports Games, in its state stage, to be held on April 23, 24 and 27, with the municipalities of San José as headquarters. Iturbide and León, with the participation of more than 1,500 student athletes enrolled in schools throughout the state.
This activity represents an essential platform to promote the acquisition of healthy lifestyles, sports development, gender equality, recreation and peaceful school coexistence between basic level students. In addition, state sports games are a stepping stone to acquire a more competitive level and reach larger competitions.
Among the disciplines that will be played are football, baseball, volleyball, handball, chess, jupok, lexicon, basketball, Taekwondo, badminton, athletics and Para-Athletics, in the men’s and women’s branches, where the athletes will reflect the sporting spirit, the formation in values and the energy that characterizes them.
It should be noted that, for the first time, the school games in their state stage will be inaugurated in the Northeast region, giving the initial flag in the municipal auditorium of San José Iturbide, to later direct the athletes to the different competition areas. In the case of basketball, badminton, athletics and Para-Athletics, they will be held at the León headquarters.
The Secretariat of Education of Guanajuato appreciates the collaboration of the municipalities of San José Iturbide and León, for providing the facilities for the implementation of the games, as well as the support of their security, traffic and civil protection corporations, for the correct development of the day.
