Youngsters from CTC Basket Est 43 Qualify for Finals in Paris: Benjamins Challenge

Two young youngsters (U13) from CTC Basket Est 43 (Monistrol/Sainte-Sigolène) qualified on Sunday for the finals in Paris of the “benjamins challenge”. After winning the departmental round, they are winners of the western sector regional round and qualified.

Anaïs Julliard and Rafaël Perrin made a strong impression on Sunday in Tarare during the regional final of the Benjamin 2024 Challenge. The young Altiligériens were divided around the 4 individual events.

The Benjamins Challenge is open to all licensees born in 2011 and 2012. It is based on four individual events mixing shooting, passing and dribbling. These events also require speed and skill. This challenge, organized in partnership with the NBA, is divided into several phases (club, department then region) before the major national finals in Paris on Friday April 26 and Saturday April 27. The winner wins a trip to the United States for an NBA experience!

“It’s huge,” enthuses Frédéric Terrade, departmental basketball technical advisor.

39 boys and as many girls qualified for this final. Anaïs Juillard finished second in the competition, first in the Auvergne section, thanks to her throws. And Rafaël Perrin is first in the western sector thanks to shooting.

Two years apart, Flavie and Maëva Blancheton finished second. Victoire Hernandez from Monistrol went to Bercy in 2022, just like Léon Mourier from Saint-Didier-en-Velay, Bastien Mannissol, or Yannis Volle from Puy-en-Velay a few years ago.
