Have you ever been on a podcast? Is the first time? Do you interview so many podcasts ever?
“Sisi, it’s the first time.”

What kind of child was Yacine Adli, what memories do you have?
“Yacine Adli is a child who grew up simply, like I think many other children. I was born in Villejuif, near Paris, I have a brother, a sister, I am the youngest. My parents have always tried to give me opportunities, not stay at home. I did many things. When I was little, my father enrolled me in Judo, I also did chess, solfeggio, violin. I had many commitments and did many things, and then football came and it quickly shaped my life.”

Tell us a little about Paris, Villejuif. How it was?
“I won’t tell you that Villejuif is a ghetto, but it’s a quiet city where people live together and perhaps if someone comes from outside they can tell you that it’s a bit of a strange city, but I who grew up there, know all the people, so I feel good there.”

Tell us: did your parents come to France from Algeria?
“My father arrived in France when he was 9 years old, he was born in 1965. After he returned to Algeria he was also followed by my mother, who came to France later. My father already spoke French, he was integrated, and when you arrive as a child it’s easier. For my mother, however, it was a little harder, but she worked hard to learn the language, to find a job. My parents immediately got on the right track to move forward together and then they had children.”

I don’t want to focus on football: what relationship do you have with Algeria? For example, I read that you get the oil from your uncle. Do you happen to go there, have you ever gone there?
“Yes, I went but now I haven’t been there for almost 12 years. I have a relationship linked to my parents, to what matters to me. My mother’s whole family is there, she often goes to Algeria, it’s part of our culture. We have a family of labourers, so we are simple people and we are happy with little. We have values and we know where we came from.”

What is the teaching of your parents that you hold most dear to your heart?
“Be a good man. Always have a good attitude towards anyone.”

Do you have holiday flashes as a child?
“I have very few memories of when I was little, because in 2012 we went through a difficult time as a family, my sister had cancer, and I don’t know if this blocked me but I remember very few things before this. Seeing my parents worry, the family in doubt, it had this effect on me. For us the family is too important.”

What relationship do you have with religion?
“Religion is everything for me. This is what my attitude teaches me, which helps me in good times as well as in difficult times. I prefer to keep this thing personal, but for me it is everything.”

In 2024 you want to be a better man, a better husband, a better dad, a better partner, a phrase you said after Empoli. In the order of priority, therefore, family and person first of all, and I agree with what you said before about the teachings of your family.
“Yes, in reality all this is linked to one thing: the satisfaction of God. This is what makes me think like this. Behaving well with my parents, with my family, playing my role as a dad, behaving well with my people, to be a good man. All this is done to obtain the satisfaction of God, and I do it for this reason. This is what makes me avoid making as few mistakes as possible.”

What is the most important number in your address book?
“Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but I also have Kylian Mbappé, although I think he changed his number.”

You have a special relationship with these two boys (Leao and Bennacer ed.), right?
“I have a special relationship with everyone, and that’s the difference. You can’t say that they are my teammates, but more. They all know that someone needs anything, I’m there, on the pitch or off the pitch, wherever “.

We were very surprised by your being a locker room man. This bond with the fans, with his teammates. Have you always been like this or…?
“I’ve always been like this, but it’s part of my way of being. Sometimes people may think that I do this so that people can speak well of me, but in reality I do it because I’m made that way. I don’t want to hide it, I’m done like this.”

What do they call you, what is your nickname, what do you feel is yours?
“Yas. but sometimes they also call me the pianist, the painter…The nickname the pianist came from the fact that my sister played it, I always liked it, and sometimes I tried to play it with her. But I’m more for the violin, although I’m actually known for singing.”

Given your passion for singing, we cannot help but ask you to sing one of the choirs you sing under the curve. You’re a fan idol in my opinion because he comes out as the man. You’re right, people perceive your energy, and what shines through, and so I would sing with you all together, starting with you, ‘Since I was little’…
“Since I was little I fell in love with you, my heart was beating, don’t ask me why, I can’t explain it to you. You will never be able to understand, how beautiful AC Milan is, how beautiful it is to be us. I will always be there it will be, when Milan play, like when I watched it with dad as a child. Bandito, a life next to the devil, and the red and black scarf, he will wear proudly, and proud, of having always and only chosen you, every day in life, what there is nothing more beautiful (the well-known Curva Sud Milano choir ‘Bandito’ sings)”.

Among other things, you learned Italian very quickly
“Yes, I learned it quickly. I didn’t have any lessons. I’m someone who talks a lot, so it’s easier for someone like me.”

Relationship with the locker room, tell us something. The fans want to know: who is the one who always enters happy, the one who sings? Give us some crunchy goodies
“Maybe that’s why I’m part of the old school: what happens in the locker room stays in the locker room. I can’t tell you anything.”

Of the Frenchmen in Milan’s history, excluding the three now, do you know anyone personally?
“No, I saw Papin once when I played for France U17. We played a match against Germany, I scored, and he came to watch me.”

At the end of your experience at Milan, in 62 years, where does Adli want to go?
“Remaining in the history of Milan is difficult, I have to do many things. So I don’t know, we’ll see. I’m not one to talk about the future.”

Speaking of the future, we are curious to know if you have any post-career ideas on what to do next. It’s clear that it’s very early, but investments, you’re putting something away…
“Ninth, I don’t look that far ahead. If we also go back to religion, we always exploit the moment, the present, because we don’t know if we will be alive tomorrow.”

How did you meet your girlfriend?
“I’ve only had one girl in my life, her, and I don’t know if I know how to deal with girls. It went well with her, but she’s a bit of my weak point. Maybe she won’t be happy, but I never talk about her , I prefer to keep everything I think about her to myself.”

What relationship do you have with Instagram? The fans write to you there, do you read it or is it too demanding?
“I don’t read much, but I follow what’s happening on Instagram. I post after the match, it’s a peaceful relationship for me.”

On the photo with Okafor and Reijnders in the mountains, which went super viral among Milan fans at the time of publication
“Yes, we had two days off, so we went to the mountains together. We had lunch, at first we said ‘Come on, let’s have lunch outside’, then when we took off our gloves to eat we realized it was incredibly cold. So we went inside and found these furs and said ‘Come on, let’s take a photo like this.’ And when we went there, Tijjani gave us a gift by bringing a pair of glasses for everyone, so we put them on and took this photo. , a nice memory”.

You are the party organizer, the one who plays the most pranks
“In reality, the one who makes the most jokes of all is Florenzi. We joke every day.”

When was the last time you cried and why?
“I don’t know. Sometimes I like to cry over nothing. I like to create stories in my head, like ‘What will I do if I’m left alone without children’, or ‘If I no longer have God with me’. It’s good for me. Before the match, however, I don’t think about anything, I try to have fun and entertain the fans.”

How do you experience the 24 hours before the match?
“Before, when I was younger, I was really focused on the match. It wasn’t the best way for me to be. Now I’m calm, I don’t think about it at all, I only think about it when the referee blows the whistle. Before the I’m having a really banal day, I’m in my room, I watch something on my phone, I say prayers, I have Arabic lessons with my teachers..”.

Do you have any superstitions?
“No, zero”.

What were the most incredible matches of your career?
“My agent, with whom I have an incredible relationship. It’s as if he were part of my family, I listen to him like a big brother, almost a dad. Paolo Maldini, his meeting made me grow. Mike Maignan, he gave me a lot. But I think that all the people you meet are important. I don’t want to be banal, but you always have to learn from anyone you meet, which is why you must always have your eyes open and your ears ready to listen, because even if sometimes you think you don’t have there is always more to learn. Like a person there is also a professor, a Sheikh of Islam who made me learn many things.”

What’s the most childish thing you still do?
“The Panini figure”.

You can make three wishes
“Health, being happy and winning.”
