XV of France: Woki and Tuilagi sent back to their club before the match in Wales

Surprise within the XV of France. Substitute in the opening match of the 2024 Six Nations Tournament against Ireland, then starter in Scotland and against Italy, Cameron Woki was released by the Blues staff a few days before the trip to Wales.

As usual, six players were made available to their club for the weekend’s Top 14 matches. This will therefore be the case for the second row of Racing, but also for Pierre-Louis Barassi (Stade Toulousain), Émilien Gailleton (Section Pau), Antoine Hastoy (Stade Rochelais), Dany Priso (RC Toulon) and Posolo Tuilagi (USA Perpignan) .

Cameron Woki’s situation raises questions. Designated among “protected players” last weekend, the second row was therefore unable to participate in Racing 92’s trip to Perpignan. Is he suffering from a physical problem? Or is he sanctioned after his bad match against Italy? Same question for Posolo Tuilagi, on the bench during the first two matches of the Tournament then starting against Italy before being “protected” last weekend.

Only three second lines remain in the group: Emmanuel Meafou, Thibaud Flament and Romain Taofifenua. The first two mentioned, both returning from injury last weekend with Stade Toulouse, should start the match.

In the center, Émilien Gailleton and Pierre-Louis Barassi were also released this Wednesday, and are returning to their respective clubs. We are therefore heading towards the tenure of Nicolas Depoortère, the center of the Union Bordeaux-Bègles. Yoram Moefana is also in the group. No surprise, however, for Dany Priso and Antoine Hastoy, both recalled this week to help out following injuries.
