The championship uses for the first time the agri-food brand promoted by the Provincial Council of Granada, thus contributing to the promotion of the province, as reported by the provincial institution in a press release this Friday after its informative presentation.
The deputy for European Funds, Development, Industry and Employment, Antonio Díaz, who participated in the presentation of the championship, has valued how important the new name of the tournament is because “in a holiday period, so relevant from a tourist point of view “as it is Holy Week, it will be a top-level promotional reference that will generate the consequent socioeconomic impact and job creation.”
For the first time, as Díaz stressed, this championship bears the name of Sabor Granada, thus increasing the visibility of the province and supporting the promotion and dissemination of the link between sport, health, food, gastronomy and the province.
The president of the CB Granada Foundation, Óscar Fernández-Arenas, and the vice president of the Marketing area, Carlos Díaz, also participated in the presentation of the event. “It is very important for us to hold this tournament for the eleventh year. It is the championship largest that is organized at a national level and we are going to fill the Granada pavilions with basketball, it is a date as beautiful as Holy Week. The Provincial Council of Granada, through its promotional brand of the province’s agri-food products, will provide t-shirts for the 1,400 participants, as well as prizes for the first three winners of each category from juvenile to junior. In addition, registration will be free for participating teams thanks to sponsors.
The tournament is aimed at more than 90 minibasketball, children’s, cadet and junior teams, both male and female, from teams from all over Spain, which will allow the Sabor Granada brand to be promoted both at the provincial and national level.
A total of 165 matches are planned over four days and in nine facilities: Pabellón Veleta, El Carmelo, Agustinos, Paquillo Fernández, Núñez Blanca, Bola de Oro, Ramón y Cajal, Estadio de la Juventud and Salesianos.
The event, which will generate around 3,000 overnight stays in the city, will be attended by the clubs of Villaviciosa de Odón, Alameda de Osuna, Majadahonda, Corazonistas, Montessori, CD Nile, CP Pablo Picasso, Arcángel Rafael, Málaga Basket, CD Los Olivos, Baloncesto Murgi , AD Carteia CB City of Algeciras, CD Ramón y Cajal, CP Agustinos and CB Granada Foundation.
