The speedy wide receiver from Texas surpassed the mark set by John Ross during the test in 2017
The NFL scouting combine had a historic day this Saturday.
Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy set a record in the 40-yard dash, surpassing the mark set by fellow wide receiver John Ross in 2017.
Xavier Worthy stopped the clock at 4.21 seconds, surpassing the 4.22 seconds that Ross set in the Talent Combine seven years ago.

In his three seasons at Texas, Xavier Worthy recorded 197 receptions for 2,755 yards and 26 touchdowns, and added seven carries for 56 yards.

Xavier Worthy did not dominate in the vertical jump (fourth place) or the long jump (fifth position), where first place belonged to Malik Washington of Virginia and his teammate Adonai Mitchell of Texas, respectively.
Ross is now moved into second place in history in the 40-yard dash with his 4.22 seconds, followed by cornerback Kalon Barnes (4.23 seconds in 2022) and running back Chris Johnson (4.24 seconds in 2008).
