Attention is being paid to the match between the four kings of women’s singles at the French Open (Super 750), which is being held as a prelude to the All England Open (Super 1000), a badminton tournament boasting the best tradition.

World No. 1 Sei-Young Ahn (Samsung Life Insurance), No. 2 Chen Yu-Fei (China), No. 3 Tai Tzu-ying (Taiwan), and No. 4 Akane Yamaguchi (Japan) have all passed the round of 32 smoothly and are heading to the round of 16 on the 7th. The battle between Ahn Se-young and Yamaguchi, who have been undergoing rehabilitation since late last year, is getting back on track and the competition is becoming more heated.

In the round of 32, Tai Tzu-ying finished the game the fastest in 31 minutes. Ahn Se-young followed with 35 minutes, followed by Yamaguchi with 41 minutes. It took Chen Yufei 62 minutes to pass the round of 32, giving up one game.

Se-young Ahn will compete with world number 27 Xu Wen-chi (Taiwan) on the night of the 7th to advance to the quarterfinals. They competed four times in history, and Ahn Se-young won them all without giving up a single game. If Ahn Se-young comfortably reaches the quarterfinals, she will meet the winner of world No. 6 He Bingjiao (China) and No. 21 Busanan Ongvum Rungpan (Thailand). In terms of power, He Bingjiao is strong.

If Ahn Se-young reaches the semifinals, there is a high possibility that she will clash with Tai Tzu-ying. Tai Ziying will face world number 9 Wang Zhiyi (China) in the round of 16.

Ahn Se-young, who received the first seed in this tournament, will only meet her arch-enemy Chen Yu-fei, the second seed on the opposite side of the bracket, in the finals. If nothing happens, Chen Yufei is expected to compete with Yamaguchi in the semifinals for a ticket to the finals. Chen Yufei will face world number 34 Rine Christophersen (Denmark) in the round of 16, and Yamaguchi will face world number 26 Yvonne Lee (Germany).
