Women’s Nations League: the video of Diani’s sumptuous goal which opened the scoring for the Blues

For his 27th goal in the selection, Kadidiatou Diani did not do things by halves this Friday evening. The 28-year-old striker lit up the Nations League semi-final between France and Germany. At Groupama Stadium, the home of her club, Olympique Lyonnais, she opened the scoring for Les Bleues with a sumptuous half-volley in the 41st minute of play. Diani had not scored in the French jersey since August 2023 (against Morocco in the World Cup).

Lying in wait at the edge of the area after a long free kick from Selma Bacha was repelled by the German defense, the ex-PSG player fired a splendid shot from mid-height. Clear, the winger’s right shot deceived the Nationalmannschaft goalkeeper, Merle Frohms.

Enough to boost the confidence of Hervé Renard’s players. The latter even doubled the lead a few minutes later, just before returning to the locker room, with a penalty converted by Sakina Karchaoui (45th + 3) after a foul obtained by Grace Geyoro in the penalty area.
