“We didn’t have the luxury of being able to make changes,” laments Thierry Henry

The Bleuets coach put the 2-2 draw against the United States in a friendly on Friday in Sochaux down to a lack of physical freshness.

Thierry Henry, coach of the French U23 team, after the draw against the United States in a friendly on Monday in Sochaux: “We simply cannot make changes. Bradley (Locko) fell ill during the match, this is the fourth sick player we have had this week. They were three, then three, then two, so much more freshness. We tried to finish the match… Manu Koné gets injured, once again we have another thigh. We knew we were going to struggle in the second half, especially at the end of the match. it was true. not being able to make changes, it was difficult. But hey, we were in Olympic Games mode: two close matches. We couldn’t finish as we needed to. The fresh players on the American side made the difference. We didn’t have the luxury of being able to make changes to certain positions. The content was good as long as we were physically good and our legs held up.”
