MACERATED A huge fight with bars, which broke out after midnight last Sunday in Macerata, in front of the Nino bar in Via Roma, aroused great concern among the population also in consideration of the numerous videos which portrayed the most agitated phases of the violent clash, becoming viral on social media. Images from which it was possible to witness a night of violence between around twenty foreign people who faced each other with bars, baseball bats and knives.

The consequences
The consequences for four of them, who then resorted to 118 treatment, were mild, with a prognosis of three to seven days. The turmoil and the fear that the situation was taking a bad turn alarmed passers-by and residents who began to bombard the operations center of the Macerata Carabinieri Company with numerous requests for help. In a few minutes, the patrols of the Radiomobile Section and the Treia Station, supported by a police squad car, reached the site of the attack, but none of the contestants were found on the spot. A careful analysis of the images extrapolated from the cameras made available to the investigators made it possible to acquire useful elements to direct the investigations. It is no coincidence that only two vehicles were damaged during the scuffles and it was easy for the military to associate the owners of the vehicles – young workers of Egyptian origins, employed in the construction sector – with the subjects involved in the brawl, their compatriots also engaged in the sector construction. The owners of the vehicles should have returned to collect their cars and, just like that, they were identified together with all their companions, some of whom then requested 118 intervention to be treated.
The searches
The searches carried out on the cars led to the finding of baseball bats and a switchblade. Subsequent investigations also led to the discovery of a second knife, with a fixed blade, and other sticks and bars abandoned during the escape. Circumstances that lead the investigators to believe that the action was certainly premeditated and that it was not the result of a heated casual argument, which degenerated later. The Carabinieri managed to trace seven of the participants in the fight: according to the investigations carried out, they are citizens of Egyptian origin, aged between 34 and 20, living in Macerata and in the province, who will all have to answer for the fight . Some of them will also have to account for the illegal carrying of weapons and objects capable of offending as well as for the aggravated personal injuries suffered by the injured.
The dispute
According to the initial investigations carried out, the basis of the dispute were unresolved work issues. With regard to the Egyptian citizens involved in the brawl, the Macerata carabinieri, who continue to investigate to identify the other participants, have forwarded to the Macerata police station the proposal for the adoption of preventive measures suitable to guarantee urban safety such as the expulsion order mandatory with a ban on return to the Municipality of Macerata and Dacur, the so-called urban Daspo. «There was an immediate reaction from the Carabinieri, on site with three patrols – comments the provincial commander, Colonel Nicola Candido – which then continued with intense investigative activity. The soldiers of the Macerata Company with the Radiomobile Unit and the Operations Unit have done an excellent job and I would like to thank them. Investigations will continue to trace the other people involved. The area is constantly monitored by the police and also in this case our response was timely.”
