In a statement distributed on Thursday morning by the board and the presidium, which is mostly represented by Adrion and Riethmüller, it was announced that the next general meeting would be brought forward to July 28th. At this Adrion and Riethmüller will ask the question of trust. The aim is to get a clear vote as to whether both should continue the business of the registered association until the next regular elections next year.

Just a few days ago, the VfB ultras demanded the immediate resignation of the entire executive committee – a consequence of the escalated power struggle among the Swabians after President Claus Vogt was voted out as chairman of the supervisory board. Vogt had announced legal action against it, but Adrion and Riethmüller then distanced themselves. Vogt is elected president until 2025 – but is not mentioned by name in the current statement.

Adrion and Riethmüller also inform that “a cross-committee working group on structural future issues” has been formed: “It is important to us to emphasize that in this group no decisions are made over the heads of the members or bypassing the official committees.”

The path to a successful future for the club “only leads through dialogue, personal acceptance and mutual understanding by everyone involved. We are doing everything we can to ensure that this path can be pursued quickly and sustainably in a positive manner.”
