After defending Rafael Nadal in the last episode of his podcast, Served with Andy Roddick, the former world number 1 once again raised the case of the Spaniard and in particular his attitude sometimes considered too modest in press conferences.
If the American thought at first that he was doing too much, he finally changed his mind when he saw him evolve behind the scenes.
“It’s a lot of intention to present himself in a certain way, but then you see him behind the scenes and the way he operated, the way he treated people. So we’re like, ‘Okay, this guy is what he is.’ He’s that kind of human being. It was good to see someone who is completely dominant and afraid of the next outcome. That made it understandable, especially for someone like me who sees these three guys (Federer, Nadal Djokovic) as absolute superheroes. But, for me, he was the most accessible. »
