Several Pokémon Go players were stunned to see that an Easter Egg dating back to Pokémon Diamond and Pearl had been under their belt for years.

Did you ever realize that the Sinnoh Stone from Pokémon Go was actually just a diamond and a pearl fused together? No ? Neither did we, and fortunately since hundreds of other people online didn’t know it too, otherwise we might have felt a little stupid.

A Pokémon fan named u/Hawkster69 shared a post on Reddit with the discovery, accompanied by the text, “Brother, I just noticed that the Sinnoh Stone is literally a diamond and a pearl, like in the Sinnoh games”. Raise your hand if you only realize this now.

The “amazing” secret of Pokémon Go’s Sinnoh Stone

Many other Pokémon fans are just as surprised by this Easter Egg, although of course there are an awful lot of people who knew about it all along. Fans are having a lot of fun in the comments, with a range of opinions.

Some share the discovery, like this player who declared, “Whoa, I never noticed that!” While another adds, “All this time I thought it was just a badminton shuttlecock”.

Another person then intervened, saying, “Holy cow I thought it was a badminton ball! THANKS !” Apparently a lot of people thought it was a reference to badminton.

Other players, however, acted smugly, as they clearly knew all this all along, with one comment adding, “AND THE STONE OF UNYS IS BLACK AND WHITE”. Still, in a series with so many Pokémon and so many features, it’s pretty easy to miss some little details like this.
