The National Police have identified 38 radical fans in the vicinity of the Carlos Tartiere stadium before the matches that Rel Oviedo played with Leganés and Racing de Santander, on January 27 and March 16, respectively.

The first intervention occurred when the National Police detected the presence of a group of about 30 Leganés fans who were in the area of ​​the El Cristo campus, in a peaceful attitude waiting for the start of the match, the Higher Headquarters of Police.

Next, the agents observed another group made up of about 70 Real Oviedo fans belonging to a group identified as radical, who approached at a run and in a clear violent attitude, occupying the road, in the direction of the Leganés group.

Both groups even threw glass bottles at each other, although the police intervention managed to “dissolve and make the aggressor group flee the scene, thus avoiding a more than likely tumultuous violent incident with serious consequences.”

The members of the group of radical followers of Oviedo were dressed in black and hid their faces with hoods, mufflers and caps to make their identification difficult, as reported to the Police.

However, subsequent investigation work made it possible to identify 31 of them, who were reported for administrative offenses under the Law against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport.

That same day, the police established controls at the access doors to the so-called entertainment stands of the Carlos Tartiere stadium, and expelled from the premises six people who were found with obvious symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

An ax in Oviedo-Racing

The National Police established a special device on the occasion of the match between Oviedo and Racing de Santander, which was declared high risk, to isolate both fans.

During the preventive device, more than one hundred members of the Racing de Santander ultra group called “Juventudes Verdiblancas” were identified, who came in private vehicles.

In these identifications, the agents seized a large axe, a personal defense spray, a pyrotechnic device, several balaclavas, dozens of stickers with messages inciting violence and several narcotic substances, facts for which seven radical fans were reported. of the visiting team.

The Law against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport establishes sanctions for individuals ranging from 150 euros to 3,000 euros in the case of minor infractions, 3,001 euros to 60,000 in the case of serious infractions. or from 60,001 to 650,000 if they are very serious.
