Last year’s winners for women and men kept their chance of defending their titles and qualified for this year’s final series in the Austrian Volley League on Saturday. The men from Hypo Tirol won a thriller 3-2 against Aich/Dob in Bleiburg and will meet TSV Hartberg in the final. In the women’s category, defending champion Linz/Steg is the first finalist.
Tirol prevailed in the deciding set after 2:15 hours with 21:19. Now it’s against the final debutants from Hartberg for the twelfth championship title in the club’s history.
In the women’s “best of three” semi-final series, the Steelvolleys Linz/Steg also won the second game against UVC Graz. The Upper Austrians won 3-2 and have the chance to win their fifth championship title in a row in the final from April 18th. In the second semi-final, Sokol/Post equalized with a 3-2 home win against TI-volley from Tyrol. The decisive game for the final will take place on Tuesday (8 p.m.) in Innsbruck.
