Tunisian Tennis Player Moez Chargui Claims Gold at African Games, Secures Spot at Paris 2024 Olympics

Tunisian tennis player Moez Chargui won, on Thursday, the gold medal of the men’s singles tournament of the African Games (Ghana-2024) by beating Zimbabwean Benjamin Lock in the final in 2 sets to 1 (7-6, 3-6, 6-2), at the same time qualifying for the Paris-2024 Olympic Games.

For their part, the Tunisian duo composed of Skander Mansouri and Aziz Dougaz won the gold medal in the men’s doubles thanks to their victory in the final against the pair Benjamin Lock and Chris Lock from Zimbabwe 2 sets to 1 (7-6, 3-6, 6-2).

In the athletics events, the Tunisian Mohsen Annani won the silver medal in the hammer throw by achieving a throw of 67.71 m, winning until then the only Tunisian medal in athletics.

At the rugby tournament, the Tunisian women’s sevens rugby team obtained the silver medal having beaten its Ghanaian counterpart in a classification match (20-7).

At the end of the 18th day of competitions, Tunisia still occupies 5th place in the medal table with 73 medals (18 gold, 22 silver and 33 bronze).
