Trofea Junior Master Almere 2024: A Look at the Competitors and Contenders

Thursday, March 21, 4:21 PM

On March 30 and 31, BV Almere will once again be the organizer of the Trofea Junior Master Almere 2024!

Although the tournament is part of the Junior Master Circuit, the number of registrations is lower than usual with 81 participants. This is because a mandatory tournament for the RTC players is taking place elsewhere at the same time, which has led to insufficient registrations in some categories.

The number of participants in the U11 category is limited. As a result, there will only be played in the ME and VE categories and the doubles and mixed doubles have been combined into a D U11. Yogan Ashwin (BV Almere) and Noreen CHing (BC Mariken) lead the boys and girls categories respectively.

Fortunately, there are more registrations in the U13 and all parts are played. Mico Yang and Daniel de Senerpont Domis (both BC Duinwijck) are the top favorites among the boys, while Nidhi Nandam (Martinus Amstelveen) and Aaradhana Karthikeyan Priya lead the list among the girls in the singles and Yrsa Dalhuisen (OSM Badminton) and Femke Krist ( BC Castellum) placed 1st in the doubles.

With the most registrations, the U15 is competitive. Tim Boelens (Sport N Socialize) seems to be a big contender as seeded 3rd in the singles and seeded 1st in both the doubles, with Shashank Narayanam (Van Zijderveld), and the mixed doubles, with Joline Bruggerman (BC Aloutte). Joline is also a big contender among the girls, as she is also at the top in the singles and doubles, together with Adithi Dasa (Sport N Socialize).

Unfortunately, the U17 has few registrations this year, so only the ME and the MD will be played. A major contender in the U17 is Timo Rooze (BC Harderwijk). He is placed 1st in the singles and doubles, together with Jelle Smeding (BAN). Competition can be expected from Kavin Siva Kannan (VBSC), who placed 2nd in both categories.

Physiotherapist Milicia Lokker from Veel Beter will also be present during the tournament (www.veelbeter.nl). She will be present on both days to treat players if necessary.
