The hockey players of České Budějovice did not find a recipe for the Třinec defense led by Marko Mazanec even in the second quarter-final match. Although they performed better up front, they again lost 0:2 in football.

“It was a better game from our side than on Sunday, when we didn’t play well. We created chances, but we are not productive and we lack stops,” laments the experienced striker

Not even a 34:25 shooting advantage was enough for the engine. “We are terribly nervous at the end, we are not calm. We didn’t play a good game in the beginning, in the second we wanted to score some goals, but sometimes things jump out at us, we can’t process it and it’s such a sloppy shot.”

“We are terribly nervous at the end, we have no peace.”

“If we score a goal, I believe we will be successful. We had chances, which is important. But unfortunately we didn’t convert them, the goalkeeper caught them,” adds Pech.

Marek Mazanec

goalkeeper, 32 years old

” href=” So far, Mazanec seems very confident in cooperation with the defense. He caught all 22 shots on Sunday, even 34 the next day, and started the elimination games in the best possible way – with two clean sheets.

“There are worse streaks without a goal, that happens. Play offs are played to win. We are going home now and I hope we can make it through the first game. If we win both, it will be 2-2 and then it will be erased that we didn’t score twice,” the 40-year-old forward is clear.

After two days off, the series will continue on Thursday evening in the south of Bohemia and it will be an extremely important battle for Motor. “It’s such a cliché, but every game is important for us. We will rest and attack them,” Pech says determinedly.

But for that, his team needs to find a hole in the Třinec defense. “Exactly, they are playable though. We played an excellent game and there is no reason to lose heart. We have to push more towards the goal,” says the author of five points from the preliminary round series with Karlovy Vary.
