transport timetables in Milan

A general workers’ strike is planned for Friday 8 March, which will also involve the transport sector at a national level. In Milan ‘Lotto Marzo’ will be full of events to celebrate International Women’s Rights Day, so there could also be difficulties for surface ATM vehicles (buses and trams) due to the processions. This is true even if ATM staff are not taking part in the strike (so the subway will operate normally throughout the day). Those that will certainly undergo changes will be the trains: both regional and Trenord passing trains, and Trenitalia ones. But let’s see in detail.

All roads closed in Milan for March 8th

The ATM vehicles for the strike on March 8th

For Friday 8 March in Milan, ATM staff will not join the strike. For this reason there will be no risky time slots and all underground lines – except the M4, but for another reason – will operate regularly. There could be several problems with deviations and slowdowns for surface lines. But this is for reasons independent of the Milanese transport company: in fact there will be various events in the city, including two large processions.

Train timetables (Trenord and Trenitalia) for 8 March 2024

More details will be available on the website or by following the updates on the circulation of trains in ‘real-time’ via our app.”
