Trae Young Progressing Towards Return After Finger Surgery, Atlanta Hawks Season in Limbo

Unavailable for more than a month following finger surgery, Trae Young continues to progress towards a return according to information provided by his franchise. However, no date has been communicated.

Stuck in the soft underbelly of the Eastern Conference, the Atlanta Hawks have not really met expectations this season. After a discreet trade deadline, their star point guard injured his finger and an operation forced him to sit in the infirmary for a good four weeks at least.

After the deadline, the medical staff reassessed Trae Young’s state of health yesterday. In order to repair a torn ligament in his left little finger, he can now begin small exercises to move his fingers. If he progresses, the franchise has not commented on a potential return horizon.

An @emoryhealthcare injury update:

Trae Young, however, had one of the best seasons of his career, with averages of 26.4 points (including 37% on three-pointers), 10.8 assists (second in the NBA) and 1.4 interceptions. The All-Star was even noted for his defensive concentration throughout the 2023-24 financial year.

Concerning the end of the Hawks season, a potential return of Ice Trae could do a little good for a group which does not seem to have suffered so much. Recently victorious over the Celtics, the pious-pious no longer have much to hope for in recent weeks. They give the impression of following a victory with a defeat regardless of the context or the opponent.

In the East, 10th place is almost assured, and a big challenge at the Play-In Tournament is looming for Quin Snyder’s gang. We will first have to get rid of the terrifying (non) Bulls, before bringing down Miami or the Sixers (if the ranking remains fixed) to hope to play in the Playoffs. And even in this rather unlikely scenario, it would be the Celtics who would appear in front of them. Great atmosphere.

In short, if a return of Trae Young can spice up the Play-In matches, we sign right away. But it’s not certain that Atlanta’s season will be turned upside down.
