Florida State’s defensive tackle was the fastest at his position in the 40-yard dash, North Carolina State’s Payton Wilson shined among the linebackers
Prospects for the 2024 NFL Draft had the opportunity to show their skills this Thursday on the first day of activities at the Talent Combine.
Defensive tackles, pass rushers and linebackers took to the field at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis to showcase their speed and agility in the multiple drills of the day, with Florida State’s Braden Fiske shining for his speed.
Braden Fiske led defensive tackles with a time of 4.78 seconds in the 40-yard dash, followed by LSU’s Mekhi Wingo (4.85) and Texas’ Byron Murphy II (4.87), and also dominated the vertical jump and long jump. .

During his collegiate career, Braden Fiske accumulated 191 tackles, 93 of them solo, with 19.5 sacks, 36 tackles behind the line of scrimmage, three pass deflections, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

Braden Fiske’s first four years in college were with Western Michigan and last season he played for Florida State, which did not advance to the College Football Playoff despite finishing the regular season with an undefeated record.
Alabama defensive end Dallas Turner was the fastest of the day at his position with a time of 4.46 seconds in the 40-yard dash, followed by Penn State’s Chop Robinson and Colorado State’s Mohamed Kamara. Dallas Turner also finished led the vertical jump, however, in the long jump Jalyx Hunt of Houston Christian University finished in first place.

In his three years with Alabama, Dallas Turner had 120 tackles, 58 of them solo, with 22.5 sacks, 32.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage, one pass deflection, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one defensive touchdown.
North Carolina State linebacker Payton Wilson was the fastest of the day with a time of 4.43 seconds in the 40-yard dash. He was followed in his position by Florida State’s Kalen DeLoach and Texas A&M’s Edgerrin Cooper. In the jump, vertical and long tests, Edefuan Ulofoshio of Washington, had the best marks.
Payton Wilson, who played five years at North Carolina State, finished his collegiate career with 402 tackles, 202 solo, 15 sacks, 48 tackles behind the line of scrimmage, seven interceptions, 13 pass deflections, one forced fumble, two fumbles fumble recoveries and a defensive touchdown.
