Three Indonesian Racers Sweep Podium in ARRC Thailand Race

Three Indonesian racers managed to sweep the podium in the Asia Production (AP) 250 class in the first race of the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) at the Buriram International Circuit, Saturday (16/3).

The AP 250 ARRC Buriram champion was won by Indonesian Yamaha racer M. Faerozi. He was followed by fellow Yamaha racer, Arai Agaska, who finished second and Astra Honda Racing Team racer, Herjun Atna Firdaus, who finished on the final podium.

Herjun actually managed to lead the race for the first two laps. Towards the third lap, fierce competition broke out for pole position.

Overtaking was inevitable, Herjun was pushed back to fifth position. The very small time difference in the front row makes the leading position very dynamic.

Faerozi was then able to finish at the front after overtaking Vietnamese racers, Cao Viet and Herjun at the last corner. He was followed by Arai who entered second place, making Herjun drop to third position at the end of the race.

Even though he wasn’t the best, Herjun was happy to be able to climb the podium in the first ARRC AP 250 race.

“I am happy to be able to reach the podium in race 1 which was very exciting. Several times I managed to lead the race, but the tight competition meant that I had to lose positions several times before finally finishing in the top 3. I will try even harder to reach the podium. victory in race 2,” said Herjun.

Meanwhile, the Astra Honda Racing Team racer who competed in the Supersport (SS) 600 class, namely Adenanta Putra, also managed to climb the podium by finishing third.

Adenanta finished behind the host driver, Apiwath Wongthananon and Malaysian driver, Helmi Azman.

“I am grateful that I managed to finish in third place. This was not an easy race for me because in the qualifying session there were technical problems so I couldn’t record maximum results. However, thanks to extraordinary teamwork, this problem was overcome and I managed to reach the podium. 3,” he said.
