Thomas Tuchel’s admission of mistakes after losing to Dortmund

KOMPAS.com – Bayern Munich coach, Thomas Tuchel, admitted his mistake in making Jamal Musiala a core player.

As is known, Munich just lost 0-2 to Borussia Dortmund on Sunday (31/3/2024).

Tuchel admitted he may have made a mistake by starting attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala.

After taking the fall from goals from Karim Adeyemi and Julian Ryerson, Tuchel pondered whether Musiala was tired and might have been better off as a substitute.

For your information, the midfielder also plays for the German national team and has just appeared in Germany’s two wins over France and Belgium in the last week.

According to Tuchel, his team had reached their fatigue limit and were unable to show their performance.

“I feel Jamal (Musiala) is very tired, he is very tired because he just returned from the German national team,” said Tuchel after the match, quoted from the Twitter account @iMiaSanMia.

Tuchel was faced with the dilemma of whether to start Jamal as a starter or not, considering that the player had just played for Germany.

However, Jamal assured Tuchel that he was still able to play well and have good performance.

“When you think about it, would it be better if I only used him in the last 30 minutes of the match,” said Tuchel.

“However, he (Musiala) is determined to be a starter because he feels his performance is still very good,” he continued.

Munich’s defeat to Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen’s recent victory over TSG 1899 Hoffenheim left Tuchel’s troops 13 points adrift of the top of the Bundesliga standings.
