Will things ever work out between national coach Domenico Tedesco and Thibaut Courtois? It is a question that almost every football-loving Belgian asks. But the more often the subject is brought up, the more the answer tends towards a resounding ‘no’.
National coach Tedesco announced his selection on Thursday for the upcoming friendlies against Ireland and England. It was also announced that Tedesco had extended his contract with the Red Devils until 2026, after the World Cup in the United States. Finally, as is ‘good’ custom, it was also about the soured relationship between Courtois and Tedesco.
Can those wrinkles still be ironed out? “I have tried everything, absolutely everything,” the national coach said during his press chat. Those images were shared without any ulterior motive on social media via the official channels, and so that quote also reached the ears of our (former?) national goalkeeper, who responded via X with some telling ‘liar’ emojis.
