Thiago Silva set to return to Fluminense after ending European adventure

Free from any contract at the end of the season, Thiago Silva has a good chance of putting an end to his European adventure after more than fifteen years spent in the Old Continent. At 39 years old, the former Brazilian defender of PSG is announced to be returning to Fluminense, the club where he played between 2006 and 2008. The manager of the Carioca club, Mário Bittencourt, confirmed the desire of the Tricolor to repatriate the player from Chelsea.

“I am very good friends with Thiago, I talk to him about many things and not just about his coming to Fluminense. We don’t have anything planned yet, but we are very keen to see him come home. From what we heard, his contract with Chelsea ends in the middle of the year (civilian, editor’s note) and he did not want to renew it. I think in Brazil he wants to play for Fluminense. As soon as he gets clearance from Chelsea, we will get back to him. And it will help us in this important year”he told Globosporte.
