Shaquille O’Neal has established himself in the NBA in every sense of the word.
At 7 feet, 1 inch, he looked down on most players and his imposing build made his opponents look like weaklings. However, if he had faced Abiodun Adegoke, he would have been in the shadows (at least, physically).
Nicknamed Big Naija, the Nigerian I’m talking about has been under Shaq’s radar since 2016.
Today, at 7 feet and 11 inches according to sources, he is considered by many to be the tallest basketball player in the world. Shaquille and Abiodun met on the court recently.
The former Lakers star looked “normal” next to the giant in his mid-20s.
The ring is perched 10 feet in the air. To perform a dunk, Abiodun Adegoke simply needs to stand on the tips of his gigantic feet.
It’s almost too easy.
Now, what explains why this force of nature still evolves in a modest Dubai league and not in the NBA?
Observers criticize his athletic abilities. Surpassing everyone by a good header is far from enough, having him in your team would not mean two guaranteed points with each possession of the ball.
It would still be interesting to see him evolve in the company of the big guys.
On Instagram, more than 133,000 admirers follow Big Naija’s journey. Strangely, there aren’t many videos featuring him, especially in uniform.
As if no one considered it relevant to film him during his matches.
