Mario Rodríguez from Granada, only 15 years old, was proclaimed absolute champion of Andalusia in badminton, in a feat due to his age. He did it in Huelva, at the Carolina Marín Palace, which is named after the great Spanish star of this sport. Mario Rodríguez defeated Guillermo Nuviala, a player from Huelva, in the final by a score of 21-17 and 23-21, in a match resolved in 40 minutes.

To access the final duel, Rodríguez had to fight from Saturday. He defeated Rubén Carreras (21-18, 20-22 and 21-13), Álvaro Carnero (21-13 and 21-11), Alejandro Ramírez (21-11 and 21-18) and Mario del Moral (21-16, 21-15). Without a doubt, a promising Granada native in this modality whose challenge from now on will be to stand out at the national level. Rarely does an absolute winner emerge at just 15 years old.
