The NBA TrashTalk Award: Who Will Take Home the Title for Biggest Mouth of the Moment?

The NBA is never the last to bring its share of verbal outbursts of all kinds between its different protagonists. And obviously, count on us to list them as often as possible, because without being too crude, we are fond of these muscular duels. So, who do you think is the biggest mouth of the moment?

The previous edition of the TrashTalk Award was won by Jimmy Butler who comes out of his lair.

Candidate #1: Jaylen Brown encourages Warriors “tactics”

The last match between Boston and Golden State turned into a real bloodbath. Jaylen Brown & co. have made this remake of the 2022 NBA Finals a film prohibited for those under 18. The final score of this March 3 game is 140 to 88 for the Celtics. JB, top scorer of the match with 29 points, was as usual dirty in the first quarter, helped this time by a tactic put in place by Steve Kerr barely a quarter of an hour before leaving to warm up .

Draymond Green said the Warriors implemented the strategy to sag off Jaylen Brown “like 15 minutes before we left the locker room.”

“I thought it was fun to try. I was actually all for it.”

Draymond Green says the Warriors decided to leave Jaylen Brown open about 15 minutes before leaving the locker room.

“I thought it would be fun to try. I agreed 100%. It didn’t work, it doesn’t matter, we’ll move on.” –Draymond Green

That, despite having failed, it was well planted in the great widths, that’s clear. We will not blame GS players for repeating such a strategy against a player of the same caliber. In any case, the Celtics guard seems to have appreciated this initiative as he suggests through a slightly teasing tweet.

More teams should take this strategy

Candidate #2: Jalen Green revisits the “James Harden move”

For several weeks, it’s an understatement to say that Jalen Green has been hot. In the absence of Alperen Sengun, whose season is probably over, the guard, number 2 in the 2021 Draft, raises his level of play to allow the Rockets to get their heads above water and dream of playing again -in to the West. Elected player of the last week alongside Jalen Brunson, the former resident of the G-League Ignite sends big stats, but also some real highlights, like the action that follows for example, against the Wizards, which is reminiscent of the murder of Wesley Johnson by James Harden, a few years ago, at the time when the bearded man was wearing the Rockets jersey.

Nah IT’S ABUSED 😭😭😭

THE LOOK AT THE SOLDIER ON THE GROUND THEN THE BLIND CELEBRATION BEFORE THE FILOCHE

Jalen Green sends Jared Butler flying, who finds himself on the derche, remembers to send a look to the man he has just annihilated, draws behind the arc despite the defensive return of Bilal Coulibaly and returns to defense without even watching his shot pierce the Toyota Center net. You can check, everything is there in this action, to the delight of Amen Thompson, who reveled in it on the bench. The Wizards are definitely a team against which we can try countless experiments.

Candidate #3: Joe Ingles trolls the Magic bench, who is very disappointed…

In this young Magic squad which never ceases to surprise, Joe Ingles is the obvious veteran from the top of his 36 well-packed broomsticks. Athleticism has never been his strong point and it’s certainly not going to start today. Just look at how worn out he looks after each of his runs. But whatever, that’s not what is being asked of him in Orlando. The Australian sends his shots from afar and gives caviar and good advice to his teammates. However, his bench could not hide his disappointment after a counterattack ended by the GMK lookalike.

😭😭😭😭 the reaction from the bench smokes me they wanted Joe Ingles to slam a 360 mill or what?!? pic.twitter.com/CMeVdgR4ox

Ingles, after intercepting a ball from Evan Mobley, “runs” on the counter-attack with the speed we know him to have, and calmly finishes the action with a lay-up, to the great dismay of the substitutes who troll while imagining it go up to tomar. All smiles, JI returns to defense having not dunked, but above all having been winnowed about his athletic qualities by his entire team. It’s good-natured and has the merit of making everyone laugh, but it’s above all factual.

Contestant #4: Jose Alvarado takes on Dillon Brooks at his own game

Dillon Brooks is never the last to stare at his opponent for X or Y reason, just to spice up the match he is in, Tyrese Haliburton recently paid the price, but in this edition, on the sidelines of the Rockets match against the Pelicans, he will find himself on the wrong side of the fence.

The context of this photo remains to be fully determined, but we already know that Jose Alvarado is an individual who never backs down, certainly not from a guy like Dillon Brooks, with whom he shares some things in common. Recently suspended for 3 games for exchanging gnons with Thomas Bryant, the Puerto Rican leader struck a pose by staring the Canadian guard straight in the eyes as a free throw was about to be taken. What’s the expression again? A loan for a return is that?

Candidate #5: Kyle Lowry had a message for his former Heat teammates

Leaving Miami through the back door, Kyle Lowry first landed in Charlotte, but was not retained by the Hornets. It was therefore the Sixers who took the opportunity to offer themselves an experienced back-up leader, especially to make up for the physical problems of the holder Tyrese Maxey. As soon as he found his former franchise, the 2019 NBA champion with the Raptors wanted to send a discreet little message, so discreet that it was hidden under his jersey.

While Bam Adebayo passes in front of his former leader, the latter does not hesitate to send what we imagine to be a middle finger in the direction of the All-Star pivot. Message which could perhaps be addressed to all his former teammates, but which above all seems to be nothing more than a nice joke between former comrades of locker-room. We particularly remember the “checks” between Jimmy Butler and Max Strus, who gave each other their middle fingers before matches to encourage each other, we imagine that it is in the same vein coming from Kyle Lowry, who cannot help but to give a smile right after. Once again, it’s good natured.

So, Jalen Green, Jaylen Brown, Joe English, Jose Alvarado or Kyle Lowry ? For whom the TrashTalk Award ?
