The Mavericks handed the beating to the Kings commanded by Luka Doncic

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Luka Doncic scored 26 of his 28 points in the first half to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a 132-96 rout of the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday.

Doncic added 11 rebounds, six assists and three steals for the Mavs, who achieved their fifth victory. Dallas moved into sixth place in the Western Conference, one game ahead of the Kings themselves.

Both teams seek to qualify directly for the playoffs, without going through the repechage mini-tournament.

Kyrie Irving had 24 points and eight assists, while Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 22 points as a reserve.

De’Aaron Fox led the Kings with 18 points, but was limited to six on 18 shots. Keegan Murray added 17 points.

Domantas Sabonis scored 12 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and handed out nine assists to reach 55 double-doubles. He tied Jerry Lucas for the longest such streak in franchise history.
