The last World Cup in Qatar involved moments of tension between France and Argentina. Javier Pastore, Argentine soccer player in PSGRome or Elche among others, has revealed an anecdote he had with Kylian Mbappéwith whom he played in the Parisian team, after the Albiceleste’s victory in the final.
“I saw Kylian a couple of months after the final in Qatar. I congratulated him on the World Cup he had won and he told me: ‘Nooo, if this son of a bitch Messi won the World Cup for us…’as a joke, as if saying that Leo had won it alone,” Pastore explained in an interview in La Nación.

The talented playmaker also spoke about the tension that was experienced between PSG and Messi. “That uncomfortable situation was caused more by the Frenchman than by the club. A club is never going to take the player’s side, because they have many more things behind them than a single player, even if we are talking about the best in the world. But the Frenchman was very hurt by the World Cup and by a lot of things and they would not forgive him even for a wrong pass. They felt spite“said Pastore.
“They whistled at him, like they incredibly whistled at Neymar. The Frenchman is difficult and it’s difficult to win him over,” analyzed the Argentine. “Playing with Messi is something crazy. Leo is up there, very far from where we are. But not idolizing him, he is your teammate, you train with him and play with him. I watch videos with my son, 5 years old, who is already a fan of football and asks me ‘but dad, you played with Messi’. “Knowing that I was able to share a court with Messi is magical.”he concluded.
