The Montevil club organizes this weekend the sixth edition of the Chupetines Cup with the participation of 42 teams belonging to 29 clubs, of which, for the first time, three of them will be from outside Asturias, specifically from León. In total, there will be around 450 four and five year old players. “The goal is for the children to be able to play as many games as possible,” said Juan Carlos Cortina, one of the tournament organizers. For this reason, the participating teams will be divided into groups, which guarantees that each one plays four games in the first phase and as many in the second. The teams will be made up of four field players and a goalkeeper, and it is mandatory that all members of each team play. The games will last 20 minutes and will be played on artificial grass.
Cortina highlighted that “the presence of teams from León means that the tournament already generates a small economic impact in the city because they will spend the night here.”
