The Importance of Licensing for Youth Academies: A Father’s Perspective

“If the license is not applied for, it will not only have an impact on the first team but also on the entire youth academy,” says Stefan Clockaerts, father of a player at the U12.

“As a father of an 11-year-old daughter, you hope that if your daughter has the ambition to play football at the top level, she will have the same opportunities as an 11-year-old boy,” says Clockaerts. “A youth academy is strongly linked to the prestige and prestige of the first team. If that disappears, coaches and players will also look for other places,” says Clockaerts.
