The Hague Secures National Title in Eredivisie Badminton Play-Off

The final play-off of the Eredivisie Badminton between Dunlop DKC and FIT Almere took place in the Maasport in Den Bosch on Saturday afternoon. The people of The Hague took the national title with a 5-1 win. In 2015 it was the first time for DKC to win the national championship.

Before mutual matches

If we go back to the mutual matches of this season, the final promised to be very exciting. In the royal city, the people of The Hague defeated the people of Almere 5 – 3. The match in Almere ended in a 4 – 4 draw, but both teams did not perform in their strongest line-up, partly due to injuries.

Final experience

The difference beforehand in terms of experience was minimal. The people of The Hague had been to the final six times so far and the team from Flevoland had reached the Eredivisie Finals five times. Both Dunlop DKC and FIT Almere managed to win the Eredivisie Final only once. By the way, it was the first time that the teams met in the Final.
