The house where 59-year-old Coleman lives with his parents and dog Hammer caught fire on Tuesday night.
The former wrestler was woken up by the barking of a dog. The fire had started in the kitchen of the house. Coleman immediately got his parents out of the house. Then he returned to the house engulfed in flames to save the life of his four-legged friend, but the wrestler unfortunately failed to do so.
Coleman lost consciousness after smoke inhalation and was airlifted to the nearest hospital. When firefighters arrived at the scene, the roof of the house had already collapsed.
The former wrestler was placed in an artificial coma. The wrestler’s mother expressed her confidence on her Facebook account that her son would recover.
Mark Coleman saved both his parents from a raging house fire, then went back in for the dog. He had to be lifeflighted to the hospital.
If anyone can beat back death itself, it’s Mark.
