The Final Sale of Former Olympian Robert Změlík’s Property Approaches: Insolvency Administrator Seeks Extra Funds for Creditors

One of the last sales of former Olympian Robert Změlík’s property is approaching. At the beginning of this year, the court approved the former athlete and bankrupt businessman’s debt relief associated with regular monthly payments to creditors. However, this is small compared to the amount of his liabilities, Změlík’s insolvency administrator is thus trying to get something extra for the creditors beyond the repayments. There isn’t much left to take, so even sensitive references to Změlík’s former sporting glory are going on sale. At the same time, the former decathlete claims that the astronomical debt is exaggerated, and according to his words, he is preparing for a fight with the “insolvency mafia”.

“In order to ensure an effective method of sale, I am hereby asking the insolvency court to approve the sale of the debtor’s property outside of an auction,” his insolvency administrator Monika Urbanová asked the judge at the beginning of March for a stamp on the upcoming sale of Změlík’s remaining property.

Sale of success

The package includes, for example, shares in seven mostly inactive companies, some of which have capital from several hundred thousand to two million crowns. A piquant item is a set of three Změlík medals from important sports competitions from the time when he was at the peak of his sports career.
