A total of five medals won by the club at the 2nd Superseries Tournament in Val Venosta
LECCO – Weekend full of successes for Badminton & Croquet Club Lecco: five medals that the company managed to win overall in Malles, in Val Venosta, during the 2° Torneo Superseries.
Take sides three athletes all capable of standing out and putting themselves on the neck two gold medals, two silver and one bronze. Biggest booty a Mattia Cattaneoauthor of excellent performances: his i two goldsthe first in SM U13 winning the semi-final in two sets against Gozzi (Uberetsch) 21*19 21*14 and the much more complicated final against Veronese (Arena Badminton) 21*14 17*21 21*12, and the second in XD U13 paired with Lea Gitterle (ASV Mals) in the final against the n.1 seeds Tabaglio/Falchetti (GSA Chiari) 21*9 21*8.
Adding to Cattaneo’s palmares is alsosilver in DM U13 paired with Luca Tabaglio (GSA Chiari), with a final lost after two hard-fought sets against the South Tyrolean team of Malles Pichler/Renner which gave the final result 22*24 21*23.
Good blood does not lie: silver also for Alex Cattaneo, Mattia’s younger brother who, despite being only 7 years old, won five of SM’s six matches in the U11 category. The icing on the cake bronze won by Paolo Milania hard-earned medal in the quarterfinals in three sets against his doubles partner Lechthaler 13*21 21*11 22*20, then losing in the semifinal against the strong athlete from Brescia Volpi (Brescia Sport Più) with a clear 11*21 3*21.
In the DM paired with Fabian Lechthaler (ASV Mals) Milani leaves in the round of 16 against Bernardi/Gurschler (ASV Mals), again with a very tight match in three sets 21*19 19*21 21*23, while in the XD paired with Rosa Efomo De Marco (GS Paralimpico Difesa) always exits in the round of 16 against Frener (Brixen)/Hey (Uberetsch) 12*21 18*21.
