Holger Rune was eliminated on his debut at the Miami Open, beaten 6-1, 6-1 by Hungarian Fabian Marozsan (number 57 in the world) in the second round. Twice semi-finalist in February in Montpellier and Acapulco, then in the quarter-finals last week at the Masters 1000 in Indian Wells, the Dane – one of the emerging stars of world tennis and number 6 in the ATP ranking – ran into a player on the day super, who beat him in less than an hour, with 24 winning shots against Rune’s 14. Marozsan will face Australian Alexei Popyrin (n.45) in the next round.
