Silver also for the mixed 4×100 (Roncato, Piccinini, Scotti, Tononi) who stopped the time at 5.38.25. Bronze for table tennis in the Abate-Ingrao doubles, finishing behind France and the neutral team.

The Italian national basketball team won both matches today, the first against Finland – due to the Scandinavians’ withdrawal caused by gastrointestinal problems – and the second against the hosts Turkey by 24-32. The Azzurri, ahead in every quarter of the match, struggled to get into gear and take off, but from the third quarter (which ended 10-2 in favor of the Azzurri), the match was all downhill.
