SV Mühlhausen Judo Youth Shine at Upper Palatinate Championships: A Weekend of Success

Judo Upper Palatinate Championships for Youth U13 and ranking tournaments

05.03.2024 Mühlhausen.

22 young athletes from the SVM won 9 gold, 4 silver, 8 bronze, two fourth and one fifth place in 26 events.

A very work-intensive but also very successful weekend lies behind the athletes, parents and carers of the SV Mühlhausen judo department.

At the U13 Upper Palatinate Championship on Sunday in Mühlhausen, the following were champions: Corlateanu, Sophia; Mössler, Maresa; Kayser, Toni; Mössler, Simon.

Runners-up went to: Langer, Johanna; Wichmann, Lia. Leo Bratfisch won bronze, Maxim Brauer came fourth and Gabriel Rothschild took fifth place in the strongest field and thus also participation in the Bavarian championship on March 9th in Hof.

Almost everyone will also compete in the North Bavarian championship on Saturday in Hof and fight for a place in the Bavarian championship in Wörth.

The U9 beginners shone with a gold medal and two bronze plaques.

A total of people took part in the school sports hall under the patronage of Mayor Dr. Martin Hundsdorfer 85 athletes from 18 Upper Palatinate clubs and, as the strongest team, 14 boys and girls from the SVM.

The fact that the tournament came to Mühlhausen again after 6 years is thanks to the enthusiasm and commitment of all the parents of the judo children.

On Saturday before, the U11, U15 and 18/21 age groups had the same success at the ASV in Neumarkt.

12 starters showed what the people of Mühlhausen could do.

Gold went to: Wichmann, Lia; Guest, Leni; Haubner, David and Bratfisch, Ben.

Silver went to: Dänger, Emilia and Rogoza, Paula.

Bronze went to: Langer, Antonia and Johanna; Piehler, Martin; Bratfisch, Leo and Sattler, Ferdinand as well as a fourth place for Nedvidek, Angelina.

These successes make you want more, or as Mayor Dr. Hundsdorfer said in his welcoming speech: “This is active child and youth work.”
