Thank you for always supporting Sunrockers Shibuya.

This time, Sunrockers Shibuya U15, the youth division of Sunrockers Shibuya, will be holding the “Reiwa 6 Noto Peninsula Earthquake Recovery Support Kanazawa Samurai Group Charity” on April 2, 2024 (Tuesday) at the Second Gymnasium of the National Yoyogi Stadium. We will participate in the exhibition match presented by SportsBank and compete against Nakajima Basketball Club, an U15 basketball club active in the disaster-stricken area.

Sunrockers Shibuya U15

This exhibition match will be held at the 2nd Gymnasium of the National Yoyogi Stadium on April 1st (Monday) and April 2nd (Tuesday), 2024. This was made possible through crowdfunding with the aim of inviting the Kanazawa Samurai Team Charity Match Presented by SportsBank to support the reconstruction of the Peninsular Earthquake. The Sunrockers Shibuya U15, whose home town is Shibuya, Tokyo, will be invited to compete against Nakajima Basketball Club. I have decided to serve.

Nakajima Basketball Club’s activities have been restricted due to the disaster, and they are unable to practice. Sunrockers Shibuya U15 will be our opponent on this occasion, and we would like to do our best to play heart-touching basketball until the very end and turn this into support.
We appreciate your continued support of both clubs.

■Each club comment

During January, we were unable to use the gymnasium as it became an evacuation center, but in February we were able to practice several times at a junior high school gymnasium outside the city. In March, the evacuation shelter designation was lifted and we were given permission to use the gymnasium, so we were finally able to carry out our activities.
Additionally, as the aftershocks continue, third-year students (new high school first-year students), who studied and took entrance exams in an environment different from usual, have barely been able to practice. Under such circumstances, we are truly grateful to have been able to invite so many players to the exhibition match that will be held at Yoyogi Daini Gymnasium, which is said to be the sacred place for Japanese basketball. The team has not yet returned to its pre-earthquake state, but we will do our best and have fun. thank you!

I am very happy to be able to participate in this exhibition match.
Sunrockers Shibuya Youth, which is divided into three categories from U12 to U18, has the support of many people on a daily basis and has been able to carry out very fulfilling activities, but I always try to remember that this is not a normal environment. I’m here.
After hearing this story, I feel that it is very meaningful to be able to interact with everyone at the Nakajima Basketball Club and to be involved in recovery support through basketball, but I also feel very humbled.
We feel that our mission is to play heart-touching basketball with all our might, in a U15-like manner, and above all in a Sunrockers Shibuya-like manner, until the very end.
Please be sure to support both teams at the venue on the day!
