Great results for the women’s freestyle wrestling athletes in Sassari.
The women’s freestyle wrestling athletes from Sassari won a bronze and a silver. The curtain fell on the Italian U20 Championships, it was a beautiful day of sport, three sports clubs from Sardinia participated in the competition such as: Shardana Judo Lotta Silanus, Xtreme Piroddu of Sassari and Lions Club of Sassari, who gave Sardinia two medals: one silver with Sofia Cocco and one bronze with Denise Piroddu.
The Shardana Lotta of Silanus, coached by Ymbre Cocco, wins a well-deserved silver medal with Sofia Cocco, in the 50 kg weight category, who fought three fights, giving way to the Como team in the final for first and second place Crapio Casarola Angela.
The Xtreme Piroddu sports club of Sassari, coached by Mario Piroddu, fields Denise Piroddu, the vice-champion of Italy in the overall class of 2024, who wins the bronze medal in the kg weight category. She 57, after having played three fights, in the final for third and fifth place, she wins the fight against the bell Cicchella Daria.
Other notable results came with the 5th place of Masala Federica 55 kg of Shardana struggle Silanus, 5th place of Garau Giulia in 53 kg and the 6th place of Iacovella Melissa in 65 kg both from the Lions Club Sassari sports club.
The Sardinia Regional Committee congratulates the sports clubs and athletes for the results achieved.
