Straka falls behind at Palmer Invitational

Sepp Straka fell from eighth to 23rd place in the second round of the $20 million Arnold Palmer Invitational. The 30-year-old scored 73 shots (one over par) at the prominent tournament in Orlando (Florida) on Friday (local time) after playing a round of 69 the day before.

Straka, who is two under par overall, easily made the cut of the top 50 despite a double bogey. In the lead is a sextet with the Americans Scottie Scheffler and Wyndham Clark, the Irish Shane Lowry and the Japanese Hideki Matsuyama. All are at seven under par.

Meanwhile, defending champion Kurt Kitayama (USA) missed the cut for the weekend and only finished 66th out of 69 starters, directly ahead of Englishman Tommy Fleetwood.
