Standard faces transfer issues: Kanga and Yeboah in the spotlight

At Standard, there will be many transfers again this summer. This is the hallmark of a failing policy. According to La Derniere Heure, two important issues are on the table.

Standard have signed Wilfried Kanga from Hertha BSC, but the striker may not stay in Liège. He wants to be active at a higher level and might look for another destination. The striker is doing quite well with eight goals and two assists in 26 matches.

Kanga is still under contract in Germany until mid-2026 and has a market value of 3.5 million euros, according to Transfermarkt. The Rouches do not have a purchase option, which means they will not be able to purchase it.

Yeboah longer in Sclessin?

Since January, Standard has rented Kelvin Yeboah from its sister club, Genoa. The striker started very strong with 3 goals in 4 matches. According to the Walloon newspaper, the Standard hopes to keep it for longer. He has a purchase option of 1.8 million euros.

But the people of Liège will first have to find money. Due to poor management, players will have to be sold first. Men like Arnaud Bodart and Cihan Canak are most often cited in this regard. They are already generating interest and could fill the Liège coffers with a few million much-needed euros. So to be continued.
