Sentenced to 4 and a half years in prison for rape, the Brazilian footballer saw his request for provisional release accepted by the Spanish prosecutor’s office in exchange for a bail of one million euros.

The courts have accepted the release of Dani Alves if he pays bail of one million euros. After being sentenced at first instance to 4 and a half years in prison, the Brazilian could already be released pending a final judgment.

The continued pre-trial detention of Dani Alves, pending his appeal trial, “can be avoided in exchange for paying a deposit of one million euros”announced a Barcelona court in a press release, specifying that justice would also confiscate its “two passports, Spanish and Brazilian”.
