HERMOSILLO, Sonora.- With a scenery that honors the Sonoran Desert and all the equipment ready for the competition that will be held on Saturday and Sunday in the Zaragoza Squarethe activity of the Final of the Sonora 2023 Archery World Cup will begin today with the presentation of the 32 international archers.
This afternoon’s event will begin at 7:30 p.m. on the same stage of the Historic Center of Hermosillo, where local Alejandra Valencia (women’s recurve) will lead the Mexican delegation, along with her compatriots Matías Grande (men’s recurve), Dafne Quintero (women’s compound) and Miguel Becerra (men’s compound).
Tomorrow the official practice will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 10:15 p.m., where—like the presentation of the archers—the general public will be able to attend at no cost.
It will be Saturday when the competition begins in the compound bow modality; first with the participation of women (from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) and then with that of men (from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.).
With the presence of Alejandra Valencia on stage, on Sunday the contest for the medals in the recurve bow will begin under the same schedule; starting with the quarterfinal round.
It will be this Thursday when the woman from Hermosillo will meet her rival of the first round, since in addition to the first two seeds in each category, the rest of the archers will be drawn to define their corresponding bracket.
