  • The meeting will bring together 18 Bogotá universities and will support the Building Future Foundation, an organization that supports homeless people.
  • Through the All-Star Game we seek to make visible the important work carried out by the Foundation, in addition to raising awareness among young university students of social problems such as those experienced by the people hosted by this foundation.
  • The sports show will be guaranteed. The best basketball players from the universities, with experience and experience in the Colombian National Team and the Professional League, will face off on the playing field.

On March 12, the sixth version of the All-Star Game will be held, a commitment that brings together basketball players from 18 universities around social causes, with a single purpose:

  • Make visible and support the incredible work of the Construyendo Futuro Foundation, an organization that provides a support system in Bogotá to street residents.

The game, which year after year is organized by the Grancolombiano Polytechnic, guarantees a great sporting spectacle, bringing together the best university basketball players, some with experience in the Colombian National Team and in the Professional League, as is the case of Felipe Soler, professional player of Pirates of Bogotá and Gabriela Chivata, Colombia Senior National Team.

But it also presents a mix between sport and social causes. On this occasion, the protagonist will be the Building Future Foundation, which is dedicated to supporting and accompanying street residents, providing them with medical, psycho-social and spiritual support. Therefore, the commitment has several ingredients: experiencing a great sports show, making the important work of the Foundation visible, and raising awareness among young university students about social problems from which they may feel distant.

“For many years in university basketball we understood that we could leave a mark on the social fabric of the capital. In fact, we believe that we have managed to leave an echo in people through a sport as dynamic as basketball,” said Oswaldo Díaz, basketball coach at the Grancolombiano Polytechnic and creator of this initiative.

The universities that will say “present” at this meeting will be the University of the Andes, the Javeriana University, the Sergio Arboleda University, the El Bosque University, the El Rosario University, the Central University, the Pedagogical University, the De la Salle University, the Manuela Beltrán University, the Catholic University of Colombia, the Externado University, the University of Cundinamarca, the EAN University, the Military University, the University of Sabana, the District University, the University of the Andean Area and the Grancolombiano Polytechnic.
