Sixers Dominate Clippers at Home: A Recap of the Game (121-107)

NBA – The Clippers are still trapped at home. This time by the Sixers (121-107) who have been in serious difficulty for several weeks…

After securing two victories in Portland, the Clippers returned to the Crypto.com Arena against the Sixers in free fall. The perfect opportunity for Kawhi Leonard and his gang to achieve a third success in a row.

Except that the advanced schedule of the meeting is never good news for Tyronn Lue’s men, taken by the throat from the start by the Sixers, well aware that they must set the pace.

Tobias Harris, well supported by Kelly Oubre Jr. and Cameron Payne, allowed Philadelphia to score 41 points in the first quarter. While the Clippers systematically force Tyrese Maxey to let go of the ball, Tobias Harris takes advantage of the gaps that open up, and the Sixers take up to 17 points in advance (46-63).

At creation, James Harden distributes the caviars against his former teammates, and Kawhi Leonard allows the locals to finish the first half with a 10-0 (56-63) which revives Los Angeles.

The Clippers seem to have shifted the momentum and equalized several times after returning from the locker room. Except that they will never get ahead, and that Tyrese Maxey will start to find gaps, facing less aggressive two-handed takes, to take over from Tobias Harris and allow Philadelphia to get back on track.

Nothing is going well for Los Angeles, like this terrible loss of the ball from Mason Plumlee, who offers a 3-pointer to Tyrese Maxey. The gap returns to +10 (85-96) and Tyronn Lue, disappointed, immediately calls a time-out.

Kawhi Leonard will not even play in the fourth quarter, the gap having increased too much to settle at +14 (107-121) while the Clippers play back-to-back against the Pacers.

WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER

– The Clippers’ half-efforts. Sad performance from Los Angeles, who certainly cut off Tyrese Maxey from his teammates in the first half, but who forgot to make the necessary efforts behind. Overall, Tyronn Lue’s players only made half the effort, especially on defense, and they paid for it all match.

– Losing reunion for James Harden. For the first time since his forced transfer, “The Beard” faced the Sixers. Joel Embiid not being there, the opposition lacked salt, and everyone tried to temper the interest in this reunion…

– The Sixers have fun on offense. Having had great difficulty scoring recently, Nick Nurse’s players took advantage of the Clippers’ intermittent efforts to have fun on this side of the field. Tobias Harris in the first half and Tyrese Maxey in the second half led the charge, but Cameron Payne also hurt Los Angeles, breaking his season record with 23 points at 5/10 behind the line at 3 -points.
