The half marathon route at the 2024 European Championships has been revealed of athletics, which will be held in Rome from 7 to 12 June. The organizers have announced the route of the 21.097 km which will be held in the capital in just over two months (remember that, in an Olympic year, the marathon is not run on the continental field). The Rome 2024 half marathon is scheduled for Sunday 9 June (the men will start at 09.00, the women at 09.30) and will start from the Imperial Forums.

The route will touch some iconic places, skirting theAltar of the Fatherland in Piazza Veneziaand then cross Corso Vittorio Emanuele II e Piazza Navonapoint to Castel Sant’Angelo and Saint Peter, before moving towards Piazza Mazzini and reaching Lungotevere Guglielmo Oberdan. After the first six kilometers you will enter a 4.1 km circuit to be repeated three timespassing in front of the Ponte della Musica and crossing the Tiber on Ponte Duca D’Aosta.

The final stretch will be run inside the Foro Italico Park, with arrival inside the Olympic Stadium. In fact, after eighteen years, the road test will end inside the main facility: the last time was in Gothenburg, when our Stefano Baldini won. Among the most anticipated athletes, the Italian record holders Yeman Crippa and Sofiia Yaremchuk stand out.
