Senior Olympics: Physical Activities Program Launched in Lanester and Lorient

The towns of Lanester and Lorient were selected to offer physical activities to seniors over 60 years old as part of a project financed by Carsat (Retirement and Occupational Health Insurance Fund) of Brittany. The latter took the opportunity of the Olympic Games to include adapted sports practice in a logic of prevention of risks linked to a sedentary lifestyle and with an objective of health, well-being and prevention of loss of autonomy.

Ten sessions on Thursday

In Lanester, the free activity was launched this Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the Locunel sports complex, with the participation of three Lanesterians. “Over ten sessions, they will practice walking football, badminton, vortex, archery and relay walking,” explains Yanis Troadec, teacher of adapted physical activities.

The cycle is free and will take place every Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., in Locunel (except May 2 and 9) until June 13. The meeting is fixed, for each session, at the car parking lot of the Locunel stadium (next to the synthetic football field). The participants will end the cycle with the Olympics in Landerneau.
