Eva Pinkelnig took second place in an exciting competition on the normal hill in Trondheim on Tuesday. The 35-year-old from Vorarlberg was only beaten by local Norwegian hero Eirin Maria Kvandal by 0.6 points. Third-placed Slovenian Nika Kriznar was only 0.8 points behind. The second best Austrian was Jacqueline Seifriedsberger in sixth place. The next competition will also take place on Wednesday in Trondheim from the large ski jump.
Thanks to an improvement of two positions in the final, Pinkelnig achieved her eleventh podium finish of the winter. In the overall World Cup, the defending champion made up some ground on the leader Nika Prevc, who finished in fifth place. With four competitions to go, Pinkelnig is 154 points behind the Slovenian. In the Raw Air, they are 32 points behind Kvandal, who is also in second place, and there are still four competitions left in the Norwegian series.
